Holiday Cheer.pngThis year we decided as an organization to support a family, to help them make the holidays special for their children. There is an organization called Life*Spin in our town that helps Low Income Sole Support families. This is a wonderful organization providing a ton of services to individuals in our community who need a lift up.

We sponsored 2 sole support families with 5 and 2 children ranging from ages 1 to 13. Each child had a list of things they needed or wanted.

The program is focused on the children, but each sponsor can decide to provide the parent with a small gift and, if possible, a gift card to a local grocery store. They had over 1000 families apply to be sponsored. We had employees from all over iCONECT purchase items from the kids' lists or donate money so gifts could be purchased. The response was wonderful, and I think I know why.

There is nothing like the feeling you get when you help someone out, and when it is a kid that feeling is multiplied. We at iCONECT have dedicated ourselves to helping out wherever we can, from our pro-bono program, to the charity events we participate in (check out Ian Campbell as Freddy Mercury from Queen from last year’s “Sing Like the Boss” that donates to the MS Society of Canada), to ensuring all of our clients get what they need at times that work for them and their users. Helping is truly in the fabric of our organization.

We here at iCONECT hope that everyone has a wonderful, safe and happy holiday over the next few weeks. We are diverse group with many different holiday traditions, at our core, we understand that it truly is better to give than receive.
